Thailand’s E-Visa System is Starting January 1, 2025

Thailand will introduce an e-Visa system to simplify the visa application process for travelers from 94 countries. The goal is to make it easier for tourists and business travelers to visit Thailand by allowing them to apply for visas online.

  • How to Apply

    Travelers can apply for the e-Visa online through the official website: www.thaievisa.go.th

  • Processing Time

    The processing time is approximately 14 working days from the date the visa fee receipt is issued

  • Eligible Countries

    Here are some of the countries whose nationals can apply for the Thai e-Visa: United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, India, China, Russia, Brazil, South Africa, and most European Union countries

  • Visa Types

    The e-Visa system covers several visa types, including: Tourist Visa (Single Entry and Multiple Entry) Non-Immigrant Visa (for business, study, family, and other purposes)

  • Convenience

    The system aims to reduce waiting times and streamline the visa application process. Applicants can complete the entire process online without needing to visit a Thai embassy or consulate.

Phuket Airport Transfers

There are various transportation services, including public taxis, limousine and minibuses available on arrival at Phuket International Airport.

Public Taxi Service

A metered taxi stand is located outside of the Phuket airport main terminal building. The average fare from Phuket airport  to Karon 900 baht (always agree the price before leaving). The trip will usually take approximately one hour to Karon.

NOTE
Phuket airport metered taxis have limited space for luggage. If you have large and bulky luggage and more than 2 passengers consider a limousine or minibus transfer.

Limousine and Minibus Services

Several companies provide limousine and minibus services at Phuket airport. Service counters are located outside on the arrivals level. Fixed price lists are available for private limousine, private minibus and shared minibus transfers.

NOTE
A shared minibus transfer can be considerably longer, depending on how many other stops are made on the way.
